The Pittsburgh media community and listeners across western Pennsylvania are mourning the loss of Greg McAtee, a well-known traffic reporter for Audacy Pittsburgh stations including KDKA-AM/FM, Y108, STAR 100.7, and Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan. He died peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026, after bravely living with cancer for five years.

McAtee was widely recognized for his deep, distinctive voice and consistent presence on Pittsburgh’s morning airwaves, earning affectionate nicknames from colleagues such as “the Voice of God.” For years, he provided reliable traffic updates that became a staple for commuters, especially during busy rush hours. Beyond his professional role, he was also remembered as a devoted family man and a kind, faith-driven individual who left a positive impression on those around him.

His final years were marked by a determined battle with cancer, during which he continued working on air despite undergoing extensive treatments, including chemotherapy. Even as his health declined, he remained committed to his audience, delivering updates with the same energy and professionalism he was known for.
