Javien Aaron Miller Car Accident – Obituary Colorado: In Loving Memory Of 21-Year-Old Killed In Crash On I-25 Near The City Center

PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo community is mourning the tragic loss of 21-year-old Javien Aaron Miller, who was killed in a fatal crash on Interstate 25 near the City Center on-ramp on Thursday morning, June 18.

The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office identified Miller as the victim of the collision, which occurred shortly after 9:40 a.m. along the southbound lanes of I-25. Authorities say the young driver died after his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a parked flatbed trailer on the shoulder of the interstate.

According to the Pueblo Police Department, the incident began when a semi-truck hauling an empty flatbed trailer pulled onto the shoulder near the southbound City Center on-ramp. Investigators said the truck driver stopped after suspecting a possible mechanical problem with the vehicle.

Police reported that both the semi-truck and trailer were completely out of the travel lanes and legally parked on the shoulder while the driver assessed the issue.

Moments later, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix entered southbound I-25 from the City Center on-ramp. For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle drifted off the roadway and onto the shoulder, where it struck the rear of the stationary flatbed trailer.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of the crash. Despite their efforts, Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision prompted the closure of southbound Interstate 25 for several hours as investigators processed the scene and crews worked to clear debris from the roadway. Motorists experienced significant traffic delays throughout the morning and early afternoon while authorities conducted their investigation.

Officials have not yet released additional details regarding what may have caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash as they work to determine the factors that contributed to the fatal collision.
