His passion for sports, especially baseball, was matched by his love of storytelling and his well-known talent for quoting lines from The Lord of the Rings, a pastime that often brought laughter to family and friends.
Thomas attended the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a degree in Accounting. It was also there that he met Emily, the woman who would become the love of his life.
