West Covina Fire Today: Brush Fire Near Galster Park Prompts Evacuations as Firefighters Battle Blaze

A brush fire that broke out near Galster Wilderness Park in West Covina, California, prompted a large emergency response and temporary evacuation requests for nearby residents as firefighters worked to contain the flames.

The fire was reported Saturday evening near East Aroma Drive, just east of the park. Fueled by dry vegetation, the blaze quickly spread across an estimated 10 to 15 acres, leading multiple firefighting agencies to respond to the area.

As a precaution, residents living on Castle Rock Court and Westridge Road were asked to evacuate while crews focused on protecting homes and preventing the fire from spreading further. Authorities later lifted the evacuation requests after firefighters successfully reduced the immediate threat to nearby neighborhoods.

The firefighting effort involved personnel from the West Covina Fire Department, West Covina Police Department, and the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Aerial support, including a firefighting helicopter, was also utilized to assist crews working in challenging terrain.

Officials reported that no injuries or property damage had occurred as of the latest update. Firefighters remained on scene conducting containment operations and monitoring conditions that could affect the fire’s behavior.
