Family, friends, and residents of Lovington, New Mexico are grieving the tragic death of Chadwick Taylor, 49, who lost his life in a fatal motorcycle crash in Lea County.
According to the Lea County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on the morning of June 17, 2026, at around 10:16 a.m. near West Gum Street and Ashly Lane. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Taylor in the roadway on Gum Street, with a damaged burnt orange Harley-Davidson motorcycle located nearby off the north side of the road. Authorities confirmed that he suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A traffic investigation is currently underway by the Lea County Sheriff’s Office. Officials have not yet determined the cause of the crash, and details about contributing factors have not been released.
